1) Which is better for window graphics; vinyl lettering or hand lettering?

Answer: It depends on the look you want and the longevity desired. Hand lettering is great for temporary purposes. Even with a clear coat, hand lettering must be redone every couple of months. The advantage of hand lettering is it is usually less expensive per square foot than vinyl and you can get some really cool effects with fluorescent paint. Hand Lettering is free flowing and is very customized. Vinyl lettering, on the other hand, is computer generated so the lines are exact and the letters are perfectly spaced and sized to fit the window. Vinyl lettering is perfect for store hours, logos, stripes or anything that will remain on the windows for years.

2) What separates Colorado Signs from other "vinyl" sign shops? Which is better for window graphics

Answer: While the majority of our customers receive their signs within a few days after ordering, our emphasis is on producing a quality product rather than an "instant" sign. We only sell banners that are hemmed and grommeted. Our wood signs have trimcap to protect from weather and to have a more finished look. We round the corners on magnetics to help prevent them from flying off. We double check every sign to insure that no mistakes have been made and if we do make a mistake we correct the problem with no questions asked.

3) What computer formats do you need and how can we get them to you?

Answer: For cutting vinyl lettering we need a vectorized format. An .eps works the best. For printing and full color printing we can take most graphic formats such as .jpg, .gif, .tif, .AI, and most bitmap formats. We use an IBM format but can usually convert from MAC (not always). We also have scanners and can scan "Camera Ready" art. The better the original art the better the final result. We also have the ability to extract art from just about anything (business cards, napkins, tattoos) but we will charge accordingly for art clean up.

4) What are vinyl graphics?

Answer: Vinyl graphics include letters and logos that are precisely cut out of a large sheet of vinyl. This allows the production of high quality color graphics that can be used on many signs, windows, commercial vehicles, boats, and airplanes.
